MathGPT was launched in Dic 22 as a solution to the well known problem of ChatGPT and most GPT models, the lack of accuracy when an answer involves any kind of mathematical evaluation. Today, MathGPT is one of the most visited Streamlit web apps, and is at the top all generative AI apps in the Official Streamlit site with more than 100 K views

So, what’s new in MathGPT?
Three tabs, and Feedback widget
We have seen that the mathgpt users make open question very often, and as the app was not designed to do that, we decided to add a new tab window to allow the users to freely ask whatever they want to explore. But after this, the other big task pending was plotting, so why not to add a plotting window too? So now we have these three great tabs.
1. Calculated questions
This is the legacy version of mathgpt where you can ask for math word problems and you will get a response based on the calculations performed after the GPT model output
Use this preferently when you need to solve a numerical problem.
2. Open questions
This is a new addition, more in the style of ChatGPT but with the mathematical touch. Here the kind of answers are more textual, like when you want to know a fact or something where a reasoning may be at work. You should not expect accurate calculations in this part though some times it gets the righ answer for simple operations.
Really fun!
3. Plots
Including plots in MathGPT has been somewhat tricky in previous versions, but now it seems that we have followed the righ way to do this. Here you just should enter “plot something’’ in the prompt input. Here is the case for the example ‘‘plot cos(x,y)’’
Nice!
4. Trubrics feedback
Thanks to the nice folks of Trubrics, it has been really easy to include a feedback element. You can select a face level of happines and write your feedback. We will read it for sure!
